Course Outline:
This course is aimed at beginners wanting to learn the art of turntablism.
The course focuses on Scratching, Beat Mixing, Record Control, Mix Tape
Production, Juggling, Turntable Tricks as well as self promotion as a
performer to insure future work within the industry. DJ Shep can focus
on any style you choose , so if you wanna learn how to mix sweet house
beats or Scratch phat routines or even both it's not a problem. The course
also teachers how to set up systems as well as learning how to produce
your own tracks using the turntable. DJ Shep also gives advice and tips
on how to play with bands and use such things like effects pedals and
other types of effects units with the turntables.
EQUIPMENT:
All equipment is provided by Da Klinic on the course as listed below;
Technique 1200 Turntables
Vestax 05 & 07 pro mixers or Stanton SK-TWO
Shure Needles
Records & Headphones
(You also get to use and learn how to use our WAA WAA PEDALS & AIR FX
effect unit designed just for DJ's)
*Students of this course are also encouraged to use our equipment to practice
on for $5 per half hour or $10 for an hour. We also have recording facility's
if you wish to make a DEMO TAPE*

DJ
SHEP has been djing since the age of 15 which
gives him 7 years experience. In this time his love for all styles of
music has lead him to perform at all sorts of gig's, giving him a wealth
of knowledge and experience. In 2000 he won DJ BATTLE 2000 and his involvement
in many electronic and rock bands as a Scratch DJ has sent him all over
the country.

for every local battle just to get a rep, dj battle 2000.
Has supported many interstate and international acts such as Scratch Perverts,
Mista Sinista, Peanut Butter Wolf, Rip One
djed at many of Adelaide's premiere under ground clubs including a regular
guest at repertoire at cargo (Adelaide's longest running hip hop night
98-2000), regular spots at clubs such as Rhino and Kumphy
Played many large events such as Big Day Out Festival 2001, Auto Salon
2001, B2 breakdancing battle, The Fringe Poster Launch and many more,
One of the founding members of Adelaide's funkiest turntable crews..Basic
Funktions, and also founding member of another turntable crew Table Manners
with dj Kuga (also a teacher at Da Klinic)
has two underground mix CD's getting recognition from London to New York
strong musical back ground.
